Scholarships

We currently have four Scholarships in operation. Here are the stories behind each fund.
Our Founders Scholarship was created in 2004 to honor the group of people responsible for getting ISTA off the ground 30 years ago. Without their commitment, energy and enormous sense of ‘giving' that these people demonstrated in the early years, we wouldn't be where we are today. This Fund is used to assist ISTA member school students in attending Festivals or TaPS.
Our Zimber Scholarship is the result of a generous donation by the Zimber family (in Cornwall). Through contacts and discussion with Tim Evans (Yokohama International School) who is linked by family to the Zimbers - we received a sum of money and decided to keep most of this as savings to protect the organization. However we also wanted to use the interest received on this money to benefit students and teachers based in the UK. Thus extending the range of people able to gain the ISTA Experience.
The IB Americas Scholarship was created as part of ISTA's role as a workshop provider for International Baccalaureate/The Americas Region). Part of the philosophy being that workshop providers receive a great amount (financially and otherwise) from offering workshops in the region - and are invited to consider ways of ‘giving back' to the IB. This scholarship enables one teacher each year to attend a TaPS outside of the region.
