Travel & Visas

Arrivals and departures for visiting schools
Overseas schools will be met outside the arrival gate at the airport by a representative from the school who will direct you to your bus. They will have a sign with your school name on it. Should there be any issues with your arrival please contact Ibu Riana, Bali Island School secondary secretary (+ 62 822 3665 7666), who is coordinating all school arrivals. Travel time from the airport to the school will take approximately 30–45 minutes depending on traffic. Overseas schools will be transported by bus to the airport after the event.

Arrivals and departures for ISTA artists
Upon arrival ISTA artists should look for a representative from the host school at the arrival gate holding a sign with their name who will take you directly to the hotel. Artists will be provided return transportation to the airport at the end of the event. Those staying on past the festival will be provided transportation back to the hotel and are asked to take a taxi to the airport from the hotel the following day. Please keep the receipt to submit to Jo for reimbursement.

Daily transportation for visiting students
Homestay students will be transported daily to and from the school by their host families. Bangkok Patana School will be provided daily transportation between their hotel and the school.

Daily transportation for teachers and ISTA artists
All overseas teachers and ISTA artists will be provided transportation to and from the hotel and school arranged by the host school. Local teachers are required to make their own daily travel arrangements. Bangkok Patana School teachers will travel with their school group from their hotel.

Transport for the cultural excursion
The cultural experience will take place on the Bali Island School campus. No transportation is required.

Social meal for visiting teachers/chaperones and ISTA artists
The social meal will take place at Lilla Pantai restaurant.

The cost of the meal is approximately GBP £30 per person. Visiting teachers will need this money in cash (in local currency) to pay to the host/Rep on arrival.

Registration closes on 17th January 2020.

Please note:
We advise that you have your group confirmed and all information collected by 3rd January 2020.
Travel information is required as part of the registration process. Please have travel details confirmed by the time the registration window opens.
You should arrive into Bali no later than 3:00pm on Thursday 5th March 2020.
You should not plan to leave the festival venue until after 5:00pm on Sunday 8th March 2020.
Please arrange travel accordingly.
Local schools will attend from Friday morning onwards.

For artists
You need to arrive in time for an evening meal on Wednesday 4th March 2020.
You should not plan to leave the festival venue until after 5:30pm on Sunday 8th March 2020.
The Rep should arrive by evening on Tuesday 3rd March 2020.
Please arrange travel accordingly.
Travel information is due by 3rd January 2020.

Students from member schools – GBP £216.
Students from host school – GBP £216.
This includes the cost of an ISTA t-shirt.

Surcharges

Non-local member schools – GBP £236.
Host school – GBP £226.

Teachers/chaperones

Non-member schools – GBP £102.

Please note:

  1. A GBP £500 non refundable, non transferable deposit will be invoiced upon booking.
  2. A GBP £500 cancellation fee will be invoiced to any school cancelling within 12 weeks from the start of the festival, in addition to the deposit withheld.
  3. A GBP £150 late registration fee per school booking will be invoiced to schools if the registrations are received after the registration window has closed.
  4. All invoices are payable within 28 days of receipt. If not, places cannot be guaranteed at the festival.

For schools

For teachers/chaperones
Single rooms will be booked for 3 nights from 5th March 2020.
The price of the hotel room is IDR 1,209,000 (Indonesian Rupiah) per person per night for adults; including breakfast.
Teachers/chaperones will be responsible for paying for rooms on arrival. We can make provision for schools to pay hotel bills ahead of time.

For students
Students will stay with families from the host school community; there is no additional cost for this.
Housing for students will be provided for 3 nights from 5th March 2020.

For local participants
No accommodation will be booked for local schools.
You are responsible for organising your own daily travel.
Breakfasts will not be provided.

For artists
Single rooms will be booked for you for 4 nights from 4th March 2020.
An additional night will be booked for the Rep who will arrive on Tuesday 3rd March 2020.
You will be responsible for any miscellaneous costs during your stay.
