About your teacher workshop leader (TWL)

This is a combined course of Category 1 and 2 and it will be delivered by Kieran Burgess

Kieran Burgess
I am a practitioner, teacher and student of theatre – a photographer, an author and a supporter of the world’s greatest football team: Manchester United. I have worked professionally in theatres across the UK, Japan and Singapore as a designer, stage manager, director and actor, and currently live in Europe.
I enjoy immersive theatre, devising socially relevant theatre and playing with architecture and visual aesthetics to accentuate a story. I pursue simplicity – in both voice and movement and in scenography. I believe in the strength of the ensemble – where the best ideas are not handed down from one director-god but come equally from performers and designers.
I am a passionate advocate of IB, having taught DP Theatre since 2012. I am a member of the DP Theatre curriculum review team and have previously enjoyed leading TaPS ensembles and teacher PD in IB Theatre – I’m looking forward to the next one.
