Beijing Student TaPS 2017

October 12 - October 14, 2017

Join us for Beijing TaPS, a unique 3-day workshop specifically for students of DP Theatre.

Masterclasses

Students will take part in two 90-minute master classes.

One MC will be delivered by Bill Bowers on mime.

One MC to be delivered by Awelani Moyo on African theatre traditions.

Teachers are invited to take part in two 90 minute PD sessions with the MC leaders at no extra cost.

Theatre

All participants will attend two professional theatre performances. Details TBC.

Students
Registration fee

Students from member schools – £290.00.
Students from non-member schools – £325.00.
Students from Global Patron schools – £261.00.
Students from host school – £217.50 for first 20, thereafter £290.00.
Registration fees include all workshops, master classes and 2 x theatre performances and meals.
Surcharges
ISTA t-shirt – £12.00.
Airport transfers – £10.00.
Accommodation costs
£40.00 per student per night based on shared accommodation, so £120.00 for three nights.
Total cost per student – local schools
£302.00 (member schools); £337.00 (non-member schools); £273.00 (Global Patron schools); £229.50 (host school).
Total cost per student – overseas schools
£432.00 (member schools); £437.00 (non-member schools); £403.00 (Global Patron schools).
Teachers
Registration fee

£114.00 (cost for 2 x theatre tickets and catering costs).
Surcharges

Accommodation costs
£70.00 per teacher per night based on single room accommodation, so £210.00 for three nights.
Total cost per teacher
Local teachers – £126.00.
Overseas teachers – £346.00.
All registration fees, surcharges and accommodation costs (if applicable) will be invoiced once the registration window has closed.
A £500 deposit will be sent with the booking confirmation; this amount will be taken off your final invoice.


Travel & visas

Participants travelling from overseas are advised to arrive into Beijing by evening on Wednesday 11th October 2017 and should not plan to leave the host school until after the last session finishes at 3:00pm on Saturday.
Please arrange travel accordingly.
All participants should fly into Beijing.
Please note it is the responsibility of teachers and ISTA artists to ensure they have arranged their own visas, as required.
Schools travelling from within Beijing should ensure transport is arranged so that your group can take part in TaPS in full.


Accommodation

ISTA has booked the following hotel for overseas participants for the nights of the 11th, 12th and 13th October 2017.

For visiting schools/teachers attending IB workshop:
The rate for teachers is £70.00 per person per night including breakfast, based on single room.
The rate for students is £40.00 per person per night including breakfast, based on shared accommodation.
For ISTA artists:
Artists will be booked into the above hotel for the nights of 11th, 12th and 13th October 2017. For any artists staffing both Bangkok and Beijiing TaPS we will cover your accommodation for both events and days in between. Additional nights will be confirmed once we have your flight details.


Meals

Lunch and dinner will be provided on Thursday and Friday; lunch will be provided on Saturday.
