Festival Focus
This festival will look back in history at rural settlements in Romania to explore the difference in people’s attitudes and beliefs and how superstition has woven its way into folklore and storytelling.

Information required in the registration forms should be collected before 6th January 2023.

Travel information is required as part of the registration process. Please have travel details confirmed by the time the registration window opens.

Please note
Non local participants should plan to arrive in Bucharest in the afternoon/early evening of Thursday, 30th March 2023 to be picked up and transferred to the hotel.

Participants should not plan to leave the host venue until after the festival ends Sunday, 2nd April at 5:30 pm.

Non local participants may want to book an extra night in the hotel and depart Monday 3rd April if evening flights/trains are not available.

Please plan travel accordingly.

Local participants should arrive at the host school for registration by 8:30 am Thursday, 31st March 2023.

Please note

All registration fees and surcharges will be invoiced once the registration window has closed.

A non refundable, non-transferable deposit will be sent with the booking confirmation; this amount will be deducted from your final invoice.

The deposit will be as follows:
For bookings of 1 – 10 learners GBP £500.
For bookings of 11 – 15 learners GBP £750.
For bookings of 16 or more learners GBP £1,000.

Travel and visas

All participants will fly into Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP), Bucharest.

Participants arriving by train should travel to Bucharest North Railway station (Gara București Nord).

Participants are responsible for booking their own travel and securing visas for the event.


All non local participants will be staying in a hotel near the host venue.

  1. Please Note:
    Festival hosts will arrange a block booking reservation at an appropriate hotel.
  2. Participating organisations are responsible for booking and paying for their group’s accommodation at the recommended hotel.
  3. Airport/Station pick up/drop off and daily local transportation to the festival venue will not be provided for organisations choosing to book at a hotel other than the one recommended by the host.
  4. ISTA and the host organisation will not take responsibility for any arrangements made between the organisation and the hotel.

For educator chaperones
Single Room Rate: 68 EUR/ night VAT included and breakfast

Single rooms should be booked for 3 nights: Thursday 30th March – Saturday 1st April 2023. You may want to consider booking an additional night Sunday, 2nd April if you plan to depart Bucharest Monday 3rd April 2023.

For student learners
Double room rate: 78 EUR/ night VAT included breakfast
Shared apartments (4 persons max per apartment): 120 EUR/ night VAT included breakfast

Shared rooms should be booked for 3 nights: Thursday 30th March – Saturday 1st April 2023. You may want to consider booking an additional night Sunday, 2nd April if you plan to depart Bucharest Monday 3rd April 2023.


For hotel stay students and all adult chaperones
Please ensure you book breakfast at the hotel as part of your room rate.

For all participants

Lunch will be provided Friday, Saturday and Sunday by the host school/venue.

Evening meals will be provided on Friday and Saturday at the host school/venue.

If a social meal is to be part of the festival schedule for adult chaperones and ISTA artists this is costed at approximately GBP £30 per person.
