Category 3 workshop specifics

In this workshop, participants will engage in activities to deepen their understanding of Butoh and to develop approaches to teaching both this amazing theatre practice and other theatre practices from around the world. The workshop will include a range of practical activities to help students approach and engage with theatre practices from around the world and to develop skills particularly relevant to the research presentation and the HL Solo theatre piece. Practicalities such as research skills, presentation skills and the application of theory to practice will be covered. The workshop will also address the documentation of research, process and performance. The workshop will culminate in the creation of a unit on Butoh for use by teachers beyond this workshop. All participants will explore the world of Butoh across four in depth master class sessions as well as attending a performance and getting to work with one of our foremost DP experts on how to take these new found skills back into the classroom.
