Geneva DP Theatre Twilight

February 20, 2018

Sold Out

Twilight workshops are intensive three-hour sessions held in the evening at a specific host school but open to any schools in that city.
The IB Diploma Twilight focuses on one key assessment task from the IB Diploma Programme Theatre course, unpacking it in depth and detail. The workshop leader will be an examiner in that specific assessment task and so they will be able to bring their unique insight and experience to the workshop. Uniquely, these workshops are an opportunity for teachers and students to work alongside each other as they develop their knowledge and understanding of how to achieve task mastery.

The Research presentation

This hands-on workshop will engage with and explore the IB Theatre assessment task which focuses on international understanding and cultural awareness through the medium of practical theatre performance: the Research Presentation. By means of a series of games, activities and study approaches into theatre traditions, participants will unpick the important elements of cultural/theoretical context, performance conventions, processes of exploration and performance preparation, application of a convention to a performance and the greater picture how this concrete research and inquiry experience relates to the personal, social and artistic development of the individual.
