ISTA present...

Going green with Tom Scott (Facebook live)

April 15, 2021

Booking Closed

Together towards tomorrow (TTT) sessions are free and open to everyone to attend. They are monthly online connection conversations where people can meet, reconnect and learn together as well as help us shape the future of ISTA.

This event takes place at 11:00am-12:00pm [UK time] on ISTA’s Facebook page.

While scheduled, primarily, as an evening session for teachers in Asia, theatre teachers globally are invited to attend.

About the workshop

Going green

Workshop description
We all need to play our part in taking care of this wonderful planet we all call home – but sometimes that isn’t always easy in theatre when it comes to our day to day teaching in our classrooms and what it takes to put on a performance. And now with the pandemic, single-use items can often be a requirement to keep students safe and healthy.

We want to know… what measures have you taken or what ideas do you have for environmentally friendly practices in schools and especially in theatre? Let’s talk!

About your workshop leader

Tom Scott
I’m in my 6th year working for ISTA full time. I’m the Event Manager and I’m responsible for overseeing the quality and safety standards for all ISTA events as well as coordinating work on event programming, artist in residency and risk management. I live in Falmouth, United Kingdom with my partner Logan and Working Cocker Spaniel, Leo.

I love talking to people and hearing their stories – human connection is so powerful and I love nothing more than chatting to artists, teachers and students from all corners of the world and sharing life with them. I’m also a massive fan of sea swimming and flying amongst other things.

As a Rep and full time member of staff it gives me a great perspective on an event and they are certainly some of the highlights to my ISTA year, especially working virtually. It’s incredible to see everyone have such life-changing and memorable experiences and to be a part of creating that and making those memories is wonderful.
