Hong Kong DP Theatre Twilight

April 11, 2018

Wait List

Twilight workshops are intensive three hour sessions held in the evening at a specific host school but open to any schools in that city.
The IB Diploma Twilight focuses on one key assessment task from the IB Diploma Programme Theatre course, unpacking it in depth and detail. The workshop leader will be an examiner in that specific assessment task and so they will be able to bring their unique insight and experience to the workshop. Uniquely, these workshops are an opportunity for teachers and students to work alongside each other as they develop their knowledge and understanding of how to achieve task mastery.

The Solo theatre piece

This Twilight session will focus on the Solo theatre piece through the lens of Jacques Lecoq. Participants will dissect Lecoq’s world of clowning, focusing on the Buffoon. Through practical exploration and discussion, we will unpack the role of a mentor, practical explorations, documenting the process, intention and impact as well as becoming theatre-makers to create a small performance. The aim of the workshop is to provide the skills to undertake the final task with confidence.
