A unique 3-day workshop specifically for students of DP Theatre for schools in Hong Kong.

Students
We will be offering the student Lit&Perf at this event as well as the regular Theatre ensembles.
Please note this event is open only to schools in Hong Kong.

Masterclasses

Students will take part in two 90 minute master classes.
One MC will be delivered by George Mann from Theatre Ad Infinitum in the UK on Lecoq.
One MC will be delivered by Made Sidia on Wayang Kulit puppetry.
Teachers are invited to take part in two 90 minute PD sessions with the MC leaders at no extra cost.

Theatre

All participants will attend two theatre performances.

The first is a change to the previously advertised programme. Topeng literally means “pressed against the face” and is a Balinese form that usually depicts stories of kings of the past. Traditionally it is performed by five men (women rarely dance Topeng and there are few female characters in this form), each one a specialist in a particular genre of mask performance (strong/refined characters; story tellers; clowns). We have been lucky enough to scure a performance from our master class leader Made Sidia.

The second will be Odyssey from Theatre Ad Infinitum in the UK. One actor. One hour. One man’s epic quest to reunite with his family and seek his bloody revenge. Odyssey follows the Greek warrior Odysseus in his relentless attempt to get home so he can see his wife and son again before he dies. Passionate, highly physical and poignant storytelling brings this breathtaking adventure to life. A journey that will ignite the imagination and awaken the senses. Winner of The Stage Award – Best Solo Performer “This tour de force of physical theatre is unmissable… a stunning piece of physicalised storytelling.” – The Stage.
