Travel & Visas

Arrivals and departures for visiting schools
Transport will be arranged for all visiting schools. You will be met at the airport by a representative from the host school and transported to the venue by private bus. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

Please note, a more detailed description regarding pick-up will be sent to you via email ahead of the event.

Arrivals and departures for ISTA artists
All artists will be met by a driver from the host school who will transport you to the hotel.

Daily transport for visiting students
All visiting school students will travel to and from the school with their host families. This may be by public transport or car.

Daily transport for visiting teacher and ISTA artists
Visiting teachers and ISTA artists will be taken to and from the school and the hotel by host school organised transportation or taxi.

Transport for the cultural excursion
All participants will travel to the cultural excursion in buses provided by the host school.

Registration closes on 19th December 2019.

Please note:
We advise that you have your group confirmed and all information collected by 5th December 2019.
Travel information is required as part of the registration process. Please have travel details confirmed by the time the registration window opens.
You should arrive into Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport by evening on Wednesday 26th February 2020.
You should not plan to leave the festival venue until after 5:00pm on Saturday 29th February 2020.
Please arrange travel accordingly.

For artists
You need to arrive in time for an evening meal on Tuesday 25th February 2020.
You should not plan to leave the festival venue until after 5:30pm on Saturday 29th February 2020.
The Rep should arrive by evening on Monday 24th February 2020.
Please arrange travel accordingly.
Travel information is due by 19th December 2019.


Finances

Students

Registration fees
Students from member schools – GBP £216.
Students from host school – GBP £165 for the first 25, thereafter GBP £216.
This includes the cost of an ISTA t-shirt.

Surcharges
Airport transfers – GBP £10.
Excursion – GBP £10.

Total cost per student
Local member schools – GBP £226.
Non-local member schools – GBP £236.
Host school – GBP £175 for the first 25, thereafter GBP £226.

Teachers/chaperones

Registration fees
Member schools – GBP £50.
Non-member schools – GBP £102.

Surcharges
ISTA t-shirt (optional) – GBP £12.
Airport transfers – GBP £10.
Excursion – GBP £10.

Total cost per teacher/chaperone
Local member schools – GBP £72.
Non-local member schools – GBP £82.
Local non-member schools – GBP £124.
Non-local non-member schools – GBP £134.
Host school – GBP £72.

Please note:
1. A GBP £500 non refundable, non transferable deposit will be invoiced upon booking.
2. A GBP £500 cancellation fee will be invoiced to any school cancelling within 12 weeks from the start of the festival, in addition to the deposit withheld.
3. A GBP £150 late registration fee per school booking will be invoiced to schools if the registrations are received after the registration window has closed.
4. All invoices are payable within 28 days of receipt. If not, places cannot be guaranteed at the festival.

Social meal for visiting teachers/chaperones and ISTA artists
Details to follow regarding the location of the social meal. Visiting teachers will need a maximum of GBP £30 in cash (usually in local currency) to pay to the host/Rep on arrival.

The hotel has free Wi-Fi.
The room rate is GBP £55 per person per night, including breakfast.
The journey from the hotel to the school is approximately 30 minutes by private bus or taxi.

For schools

For teachers/chaperones
Visiting teachers/chaperones will be booked into single rooms at the hotel for the nights of the 26th, 27th and 28th February 2020.

Teachers/chaperones will be responsible for paying for rooms on arrival. We can make provision for schools to pay hotel bills ahead of time.

For students
Students will stay with families from the host school community; there is no additional cost for this.
Housing for students will be provided for 3 nights from 26th February 2020.

For artists
Single rooms will be booked for you for 4 nights from 25th February 2020.
An additional night will be booked for the Rep who will arrive on the 24th February 2020.
You will be responsible for any miscellaneous costs during your stay.
