This festival will explore powerful and meaningful female figures and how different cultures can exist hand in hand on the same geographical platform to create diversity and equality within a community.

Cultural Experience
Participants will visit the ancient city of Ephesus, the house of Virgin Mary and the Great Theatre in Ephesus, which is believed to be the birthplace of theatre.

Please note
All registration fees and surcharges will be invoiced once the registration window has closed.

A non refundable, non-transferable deposit will be sent with the booking confirmation; this amount will be deducted from your final invoice.

The deposit will be as follows:
For bookings of 1 – 10 learners GBP £500.
For bookings of 11 – 15 learners GBP £750.
For bookings of 16 or more learners GBP £1,000.

Travel and visas

Participants travelling by air will fly into Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB)

Participants arriving by train will arrive at Ulukent on the IZBAN train.

Participants are responsible for booking their own travel and securing visas for the event. Participants should check any Covid entry regulations for Turkey prior to booking.

Travel Planning:
Non-local participants should arrive in Izmir the afternoon/early evening of Thursday 3rd of November 2022 to meet host families for home-stay or for hotel stay to check in and have dinner locally. We recommend an early night and a good sleep the night before the festival opens.

Local participants must arrive at the host school for registration by 8:30 am Friday, 4th November 2022.

Participants should not plan to leave the school until after 5:30 pm on Sunday, 6th November 2022.

Please arrange travel accordingly.

IMPORTANT:
The host organisation has offered homestay for student participants with a hotel option if preferred.

Guest organisations choosing hotel stay for student participants will be responsible for paying the hotel costs.

When registering, organisations should indicate whether they prefer home stay or hotel stay in the housing notes of the registration form.

For student learners
Learners will stay with families from the host school community; there is no additional cost for this.

Accommodation for students will be provided for 2/3 nights from 3rd – 5/6th November 2022 depending on the date of departure.

Guest organisations choosing hotel option

  • Festival hosts will arrange a block booking reservation at an appropriate hotel.
  • Participating organisations are responsible for booking and paying for their group’s accommodation at the recommended hotel.
  • Airport/Station pick up/drop off and daily local transportation to the festival venue will not be provided for organisations choosing to book at a hotel other than the one recommended by the host.
  • ISTA and the host organisation will not take responsibility for any arrangements made between the organisation and the hotel.

Single Room:   Turkish Lira: ₺690 + VAT
Single rooms should be booked for 2/3 nights from 3rd – 5/6th November 2022 depending upon date of departure.
We recommend booking departure for Monday 7th November if possible.

For learners

Double/Twin: Turkish Lira ₺840 + VAT
Shared rooms should be booked for 2/3 nights from 3rd – 5/6th November 2022 depending on date of departure. We recommend booking departure Monday, 7th November if possible.

 

Meals


For all participants staying at the hotel
Please ensure you book rooms with breakfast.

For Homestay
Breakfasts will be provided for students by host families.

For all participants
Lunch will be provided daily at the host school/venue.
Evening meals will be provided at the host school/venue.

If a social meal is to be part of the festival schedule for adult chaperones and ISTA artists this is priced at approximately GBP £30 per person. Guest adult chaperones will pay the host directly for this meal.
