Kuala Lumpur IB workshop - DP Theatre Category 3 and DP Practical Film Production Category 3

Diploma Programme Theatre – Category 3 – Collaboratively Creating Original Theatre.

Diploma Programme Film – Category 3 – Practical Film Production (for IB film teachers and theatre teachers or teachers of any subject looking to up-skill their ability to film student work. No previous IB training required for the film workshop).

Master class

All participants will take part in one 90 minute master class.

Theatre

All participants will attend two professional theatre performances.
Details to be confirmed by May 2019.

Dates

The workshop starts at 9:00am on Friday 20th September 2019.
The workshop finishes at 3:00pm on Sunday 22nd September 2019.

Important dates

Registration is now open.
Registration closes Friday 23rd August 2019.

Artist travel forms are due Friday 23rd August 2019.

Travel

Participants are advised to arrive into Kuala Lumpur by evening on Thursday 19th September 2019 and should not plan to leave ISKL until after 3:00pm on Sunday 22nd September 2019. Early departures should be avoided, but if incurred will mean ISTA can only issue a certificate of partial attendance.

All artists should plan to fly into Kuala Lumpur.

Accommodation

ISTA will be booking a hotel close to the host school for all participants. We will book IB teachers into the hotel for the nights of 19th, 20th and 21st September unless advised otherwise. We will invoice teachers for accommodation at the time of registration.

Finances

Fees

Registration fees
Teachers from member schools – GBP £635.
Teachers from non-member schools – GBP £685.
Teachers from host school – 2 free teacher places, excluding surcharges.
Fees include lunches and tea/coffee breaks daily; master class and two theatre tickets.

Surcharges
ISTA t-shirt – GBP £12.
Airport transfers – GBP £10. NB. Airport transfers will only be provided if attending as part of a student group.
Non local member participants daily travel – GBP £20. This will be for daily travel from the hotel to the school and from the school to the theatre.
Local participants – two one way theatre transfers – GBP £10.

Accommodation costs
GBP £TBC per teacher per night based on single room accommodation; GBP £TBC for three nights.

Teachers from local member schools – GBP £657.
Teachers from non local member schools (attending as part of a school group) – GBP £677 plus accommodation.
Teachers from non local member schools (attending without students) – £667 plus accommodation.
Teachers from local non member schools – GBP £707.
Teachers from non local non member schools (attending as part of a school group) – GBP £727 plus accommodation.
Teachers from non local non member schools (attending without students) – GBP £717 plus accommodation.

Any bookings or amendments taken in the six weeks prior to the workshop will incur an additional GBP £50 late booking/amendments surcharge, subject to availability.

Meals

Lunches and dinners are provided on the days of the workshop along with tea/coffee breaks; breakfasts will be taken at the hotel.
