Stone Soup –  What will you bring to the pot.

Festival Focus
This festival will explore traditional Portuguese ‘cultural ingredients’ that are part of a fading heritage. By learning and celebrating these elements and those of our own heritage, we will find a respect for each person and their contribution and how this can ultimately enriches us as individuals and as a community.

Global Challenge and Area of learning
A World of Difference – a celebration of difference and identities

Cultural Experience
A series of workshops and presentations related to Portuguese culture led by local artists. Likely to include – folk dance, fado, tile painting.

Please note

All registration fees and surcharges will be invoiced once the registration window has closed.

A non refundable, non-transferable deposit will be sent with the booking confirmation; this amount will be deducted from your final invoice.

The deposit will be as follows:
For bookings of 1 – 10 learners GBP £500.
For bookings of 11 – 15 learners GBP £750.
For bookings of 16 or more learners GBP £1,000.

Please refer to our event terms and conditions for details of late registration/cancellation fees.

Travel and accommodation

Local participants will arrange their own travel to and from the host venue each day.

For Non-local Participants
All guest participants will stay in a hotel near the host school

Please Note:
Festival hosts will arrange a block booking reservation at an appropriate hotel.

  • Participating organisations are responsible for booking and paying for their group’s accommodation at the recommended hotel.
  • Airport/Station pick up/drop off and daily local transportation to the festival venue will not be provided for organisations choosing to book at a hotel other than the one recommended by the host.
  • ISTA and the host organisation will not take responsibility for any arrangements made between the organisation and the hotel.

For adult chaperones
Single rooms should be booked for 3 nights from Thursday, 2nd February 2023

For student learners
Shared rooms should be booked for 3 nights from Thursday, 2nd February 2023

 

Meals

Breakfast will be eaten at home for local participants and at the hotel for non-local participants.
Lunch will be provided daily by the host
Dinner will be provided by the host on Friday and Saturday evenings.

If a social meal is to be part of the festival schedule for adult chaperones and ISTA artists this is costed at approximately GBP £30 per person
