London (1) Student TaPS 2017

October 5 - October 7, 2017

Wait List

Join us for London TaPS, a unique 3-day workshop specifically for students of DP Theatre.

Masterclasses

Students will take part in two 90 minute master classes.
One MC will be delivered by Will Kerley on directing.
One MC will be delivered by Made Pujawati on Kecak theatre.
Teachers are invited to take part in two 90 minute PD sessions with the MC leaders at no extra cost.

Theatre

All participants will attend two professional theatre performances:

Wings at the Young Vic.  Juliet Stevenson takes on yet another extraordinary role – Emily was a fiercely independent woman, an aviator and a wing-walker until a stroke destroyed her sense of reality. Fragments of her life come together as she struggles to find her voice and herself. The hugely successful collaborators from Happy Days reunite for this London premiere directed by Natalie Abrahami:

And The Seagull at the Lyric Hammersmith.

Unrequited love. Creative jealousy. Guns. Vodka and Art.

Anton Chekhov’s celebrated masterpiece is given vibrant new life in this dynamic new adaptation by Olivier-award winning playwright Simon Stephens, directed by Sean Holmes and starring Lesley Sharp as Irina Arkadina.

Switching effortlessly between the ridiculous and the profound, The Seagull forensically examines the transcendence and destructiveness of love. The burning need to create Art and how harshly that need can be crushed permeates throughout the play.
