ISTA present...

London (3) IB workshop 2018 - Cat 2

October 8 - October 10, 2018

Booking Closed

Type

DP Theatre Category 2

Master classes

All participants will take part in two 90 minute master classes.

One will be exploring Meisner with Aileen Gonsalves and one on Mask and Clown techniques with Trestle Theatre Company.

Theatre

All participates will attend two professional theatre productions.

The first is a specially commissioned performance by Trestle Theatre Company titled ‘Rachel’ (currently in production). ISTA students and teachers will be the first to see this performance which incorporates full mask and clowning and is about the life of Mrs Rachel Levy, a holocaust survivor. We aim to create a Legacy for survivors, refugees and victims of hate crimes past and present by working creatively with Rachel Levy and her story – https://www.trestle.org.uk/current-projects

The second is ‘Everybody’s Talking about Jamie’ at the Apollo Theatre – Once upon a time, there was a 16-year-old boy who had a secret he wanted to tell…
So, he approached a documentary filmmaker as you do, and asked if they would help him tell it. The resulting documentary was seen by a theatre director and it inspired him to create a musical. A producing regional theatre backed him. He then bumped into a famous musical theatre star who introduced him to a well-known pop composer who was working with a lyricist and book writer. The theatre put on the production. A major producer saw it and offered them a West End theatre – http://www.everybodystalkingaboutjamie.co.uk

Travel forms from ISTA artists are due on Monday 27th August 2018.
A full information pack will be sent to all participants three weeks prior to the workshop.
