Starting Point
At this festival we will explore the extent to which tradition is fixed or fluid, using folk lore to examine traditional notions of home, identity and community.
Out & About
The National Crafts Museum, New Delhi – a space that has several replicas of traditional houses from different regions of India, a textile gallery, murals of traditional and tribal painting styles, traditional woodworks gallery and a live performance by folk performers.

Important Information
This is a bonsai festival.
The festival starts at 9:00am on Thursday 27th September and finishes at 5:00pm on Saturday 29th September 2018.
Information for visiting schools
Registration opens 16th August 2018.
Registration closes 30th August 2018.
Please note:
We advise that you have your group confirmed and all information collected prior to 16th August 2018.
Travel information is required as part of the registration process. Please have travel details confirmed by the time the registration window closes.
Schools should plan to take flights that arrive by late afternoon into New Delhi on Wednesday 26th September 2018. Schools may leave the host school after the close at 5:00pm on Saturday 29th September 2018.
ISTA artists
ISTA artists will need to arrive on Tuesday 25th September 2018 in time for an evening meal and may leave BSND on Saturday after 5:30pm. Please arrange flights accordingly.
The ISTA Rep will arrive into New Delhi on Monday 24th September to spend Tuesday with the host.
Artist travel information is required by 30th August 2018.
Finances
Students
Registration fees
GBP £206 per student – member schools.
This includes the cost of an ISTA t-shirt.
Surcharges
GBP £10 airport transfers.
GBP £10 out and about.
Total per student
GBP £226 members, GBP £216 host.
Teachers/chaperones
GBP £50 – visiting member schools, towards catering etc.
GBP £97 – visiting non-member schools registration fee (includes meals at school).
GBP £10 airport transfers.

GBP £12 ISTA t-shirt (optional).
Total per teacher/chaperone
GBP £82 members.
GBP £129 non-members.
Please note:
1. A GBP £500 non-refundable, non-transferrable deposit will be invoiced upon booking.
2. A GBP £500 cancellation fee will be invoiced to any school cancelling within 12 weeks from the start of the festival, in addition to the deposit withheld.
3. A GBP £150 late registration fee per school booking will be invoiced to schools if the registrations are received after the registration window has closed.
4. All invoices are payable within 28 days of receipt. If not, places cannot be guaranteed at the festival.
Travel & Visas
All overseas participants will fly into Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 3
The journey from the airport to the school will take approximately 45 mins.
Visiting schools
All schools are responsible for booking their own travel and visas for the festival.
Schools will use private transportation provided by the school to get from the airport to the school. All schools will be met by a representative from the host school.
ISTA artists
ISTA artists are responsible for booking their own flights to the festival and will use our travel agency for this. Artist teams will be activated 12 weeks prior to the festival and your EC will talk you through the process for booking flights at the time of activation.
Artists are also responsible for ensuring they have the necessary visa to enter India.
Artists will be collected at the airport by a driver and car organised by the host school.

The hotel has free WiFi.
The room rate for single occupancy room is Rs.9950/- per night, including breakfast. The room rate for double occupancy room is Rs.11475/- per night, including breakfast.
The distance from the hotel to the school is approximately 1.5km.
Teachers/chaperones and ISTA artists will be shuttled in cars organised by the host to/from the school each day.
Visiting schools
Teachers/chaperones
Single rooms will be booked for visiting teachers and chaperones for the nights of the 26th, 27th and 28th September 2018.
Visiting schools will be responsible for paying for rooms upon arrival. We can make provision for schools to pay hotel bills ahead of time.
Students
Students will stay with host families.
There will be no charge for accommodation.
Housing will be offered for three nights from the 26th September 2018.
ISTA artists
Single rooms will be booked for ISTA artists for the nights of the 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th September 2018.
An additional night will be booked for the Rep who will arrive on the 24th September 2018.
Artists will be responsible for any miscellaneous costs during their stay at the hotel.
Meals
Visiting schools
Breakfast – for visiting teachers at the hotel, for visiting students with host families.
Lunches daily provided by the host school.
Dinner provided on days 1 and 2 of the festival.
ISTA artists
All meals will be provided by the host school.
