The inaugural ISTA festival for NISDA school students. Book now with estimated numbers. This will allow you time to get names together before the registration window opens.

Starting Point

Students will work towards devising a shared performance in ensembles based on ISTA’s pedagogy and ethos, lead by artists from ISTA’s international pool of exceptional practitioners.

Important information

For NISDA member schools only.

The festival starts at 2:00pm on Saturday 30th March 2019 and finishes at 2:30pm on Monday 1st April 2019.

Visiting schools
Registration opens 25th January 2019.
Registration closes 8th February 2019.

Please note:
We advise that you have your group confirmed and all information collected prior to the 25th January 2019.
Travel information is required as part of the registration process. Please have travel details confirmed by the time the registration window closes.
All schools will need to arrive at Bedales before lunch at 12:00pm on Saturday 30th March 2019 and may leave Bedales on Monday afternoon.

ISTA artists
ISTA artists will need to arrive into Bedales by 2:00pm on Friday 29th March 2019 in time for an afternoon of planning and an evening meal and may leave Bedales on Monday afternoon.
The ISTA Rep will arrive into Bedales by Thursday evening 28th March 2019 to spend Friday morning on pre-planning.
Artist travel information is required by 8th February 2018.

Registration fees
GBP £238 per student.
Please note there is a discounted rate for host school students.

The cost of all meals for the duration of the festival and boarding accommodation is included in the registration fee.

Total per student
GBP £250 members.

Teachers/chaperones
GBP £60 – visiting schools registration fee.
GBP £12 ISTA t-shirt (optional).

GBP £72 members.

Please note:
1. A GBP £500 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit will be invoiced upon booking.
2. A GBP £500 cancellation fee will be invoiced to any school cancelling within 12 weeks from the start of the festival, in addition to the deposit withheld.
3. A GBP £150 late registration fee per school booking will be invoiced to schools if the registrations are received after the registration window has closed.
4. All invoices are payable within 28 days of receipt. If not, places cannot be guaranteed at the festival.

Travel and visas

Petersfield station is approximately one hour from London Waterloo. The nearest airport is Gatwick.
The school is 2 miles from the station.

Visiting schools
All schools are responsible for booking their own travel to Bedales for the festival.

ISTA artists
ISTA artists are responsible for booking their own flights to the festival and will use our travel agency for this. Artist teams will be activated 12 weeks prior to the festival and your EC will talk you through the process for booking flights at the time of activation. Please ensure you arrive in Petersfield by 2:00pm on Friday 29th March 2019.
Artists are also responsible for ensuring they have the necessary visa to enter the United Kingdom.
Artists will be given further information on pickup arrangements from the nearest station closer to the time.

Accommodation

Visiting schools
Teachers/chaperones

Visiting teachers/chaperones will stay in single rooms on site for the nights of the 30th and 31st March 2019.

Students
Students will stay in dormitory/room accommodation on site.
If sharing is involved, where possible students will be placed in rooms with peers from their own school.

As the festival involves on site accommodation, as opposed to homestay, it is ISTA’s expectation that teachers/chaperones will look after students outside of scheduled festival times.

ISTA artists
Single rooms will be booked for ISTA artists at a nearby hotel, for 3 nights from the 29th March 2019.
Artists will be responsible for any miscellaneous costs during their stay at the hotel.

Meals

Visiting schools
Breakfasts will be provided for all participants on Sunday and Monday.
Lunches will be provided on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Dinner will be provided for all participants on Saturday and Sunday. There will be at least one evening reception for visiting teachers and artists.

ISTA artists
All meals will be provided.
