Practical strategies for teacher wellbeing
This workshop is designed for all teachers interested in wellbeing (professionally, personally, for yourselves and for your students). Please see more details and discount information (!) under Important information.
Over recent years, there has been an increased focus on student wellbeing as an underpinning to learning. It is now time to integrate teacher wellbeing, and how to enhance the learning environment by taking care of ourselves.
– develop an awareness strategy for stress regulation;
– practice compassion and self-compassion exercises;
– explore the neuroscience behind mindfulness and meditation;
– discuss how improving teacher wellbeing has a flow-on effect to student wellbeing and learning.
How this workshop will benefit teachers in their curriculum delivery
This workshop will provide teachers with a skillset for regulating their own stress and improving their own wellbeing. This will support them to be more effective teachers and role models, and offer them wellbeing strategies they can pass on to students either implicitly or explicitly.
About your workshop leader
I am an Australian born of German and Aboriginal parents. My professional background is equally mixed, ranging across the sciences to the arts. With professional experience as a researcher, a physical therapist, a fitness leader, dance instructor and public speaker, my passions revolve around knowledge, movement and the mind-body connection.
My artistic interests lie in choreographing new and different ways of moving through and interacting with the world, incorporating principles borrowed from dance, yoga, pilates, neuroscience and psychology. I’m particularly curious about how we can express and continually craft our sense of self through movement and theatre.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Psychology and a Diploma in Positive Psychology and Wellbeing, and have been a regular mindfulness presenter for teachers as well as students. As well as acting in wellbeing advisory roles, I have led several wellbeing projects in South Australian schools, including a train-the-trainer model for upskilling teachers in positive psychology principles.

This workshop is aimed at all teachers with an interest in and concern for, wellness. The workshop will take place using the platform Zoom.
Places are limited to 20 participants per workshop.
You will receive a link to the Zoom call the day before the workshop.
The cost of the session is GBP £30 per person.
What to bring
Any materials shared with you prior to the workshop, such as the workbook. Plus anything requested by the workshop leader which will be shared with you a few days prior to the workshop.
If possible, please try to have a small amount of space near to you for any practical work.
