Masterclasses
Students will take part in two 90 minute master classes.
One master class on Peking Opera. Participants will have range of classes, thus broadening the experience for school groups. Master classes will be taken by teachers at the Shanghai Theatre Academy focussing on body movement, face, voice, gestures, weapon use within the context of Peking Opera.
The second master class will focus on Kathakali.
Teachers are invited to take part in two PD sessions at no extra cost.
Theatre
Participants will attend two professional theatre performances.
A Peking Opera performance at the Shanghai Theatre Academy.
A performance, lec/demo on Kathakali held at the school.

Important Information
Booking is now open.
The registration window will open on Monday 13th August 2018.
The registration window will close on Tuesday 28th August 2018.
Travel forms for artists should be submitted by Tuesday 28th August 2018.
A full information pack will be sent to all participants three weeks prior to the workshop.
Travel
Overseas participants are advised to arrive into Shanghai by evening on Thursday 11th October 2018. Departures from the school should not be planned until after the close of TaPS at 3:00pm on Sunday 14th October 2018.
Please arrange international travel accordingly.
Local participants will attend from the morning of Friday 12th October 2018.
Please note it is the responsibility of teachers and ISTA artists to ensure they have arranged their own visas, as required.
Accommodation
Overseas participants will stay at the Ramada Plaza Pudong Shanghai.
ISTA will make this booking and charge schools for accommodation fees at the time of registration.
Visiting teachers, chaperones and ISTA artists will stay in single rooms.
Students will stay in shared rooms.
ISTA will be booking rooms for all participants for the nights of the 11th, 12th and 13th October 2018 inclusive; unless otherwise advised.

Registration fee
Students from member schools – GBP £290.
Students from non member schools – GBP £325.
Students from host school – GBP £217.50 for first 20, thereafter GBP £290.
Registration fees include all workshops, master classes, 2 x theatre performances and meals.
Surcharges
ISTA t-shirt – GBP £12.
Airport transfers – GBP £10.
An additional surcharge will be levied for overseas participants for daily travel from the hotel to the school and from the school to the theatre (all participants), depending on event logistics. This will be GBP £20 pp for overseas participants and GBP £10 for local participants (covering the transport from the school to theatre).
Accommodation costs
GBP £68 per student per night based on shared accommodation, so GBP £204 for three nights.
Total cost per student – local schools
GBP £302 (member schools); GBP £337 (non member schools), plus surcharge for theatre travel, TBC.
Total cost per student – non local schools
GBP £516 (member schools); GBP £551 (non member schools), plus surcharge for travel, TBC.

All registration fees, surcharges and accommodation costs (if applicable) will be invoiced once the registration window has closed.
A GBP £500 deposit will be sent with the booking confirmation; this amount will be taken off your final invoice.
Meals
Lunch will be provided for all participants on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Evening meals will be provided on Friday and Saturday.
Breakfasts will be taken at the hotel (oversesas participants) and at home (local participants).
