Singapore CPD Twilight - Creating dance: Inspirations and guidance for choreography
April 18, 2018
Twilight workshops are intensive three-hour sessions held in the evening at a specific host school but open to any teachers and students from schools in that city. This Singapore CPD Twilight is for high school students and all teachers who wish to develop their understanding of dance and explore ways into choreography.
Creating dance: Inspirations and guidance for choreography
Where do we find our inspiration for dance? What motivates our choices of movement? How do we convey meaning and emotion?
Together we will demystify the elements of dance to create and structure movement for any setting or performance. This practical workshop will explore a wide range of activities that focus on generating and developing ideas for choreography, whether it be a solo piece or large group.
This workshop is suitable for high school students and all teachers who wish to develop their understanding of dance and explore ways into choreography.
About Zoe Weiner
Zoe Weiner comes from a family of dancers. Having performed on stage and screen across Europe she eventually settled in Portugal and 22 years later is still there. A change of career led her to discover and investigate the importance of arts in education and it has become her passion. Zoe says:”Dancing makes my soul sing, my face smile and my body feel alive. When there’s music playing I have to move, in fact I think better when I move, full stop.” Zoe is trained in diverse styles of dance from jazz to hip hop to tap, ballroom, contemporary, rock ‘n’ roll and beyond. She currently teaches at St. Julian’s school, Portugal.
