Artistic information

Title
Shifting boundaries

At this festival we will explore…
… the borders between the natural and the human constructed worlds, the barriers within us and the barriers created by others.

Exploration
Sungai Buloh Wetlands Reserve.

Frame
Personal, artistic, environmental.

Please note
We are excited to pilot a dance and physical theatre festival. This will be a workshop model festival. Students will be able to choose a primary area of focus based on experience or interest. We are particularly interested in receiving bookings from member schools who have MS dance programmes. Please consider passing this opportunity along to your dance teachers!

Our plan is to offer core dance workshops at various levels from novice to those with technique training, alongside several offerings in physical theatre. For member schools who don’t have dance programmes, you are still invited to book as you probably have theatre students who take outside dance classes alongside students who are passionate about musical theatre and other forms of physical theatre. As there will be both dance and theatre options, we think this is a great opportunity for dancers and theatre students to step outside of their comfort zone and learn alongside one another. What a great opportunity to work towards that goal of becoming a triple threat!

Your event coordinator will be in contact with you post-booking, to get more information from you about your particular cohort of students.

We invite you to consider booking for this festival and if you do, you are also able to book a 2nd MS festival focussed solely on drama.

In addition (!)…
We are going to pilot a tech ensemble at this festival. Please bear this in mind when you book. Do advertise this when you begin organising your trip as we would like tech students to be identified before your group is confirmed. We do not want students signing up for the festival and then being asked to join the tech ensemble.
