Title
Singapore TaPS

TaPS goals
The TaPS experience engages young people with the philosophy of the DP Theatre course, its core components and the assessment tasks.
TaPS acts as a launchpad for students’ explorations of theatre within the context of the course; to further pursue once back in their own schools.
Working with DP Theatre students from different schools broadens perspectives, forges friendships and enhances all learning.

Master classes
All participants will take part in two master classes (MCs) focusing on a specific aspect of theatre.
MCs for this TaPS will be confirmed by June 2020.

Theatre
All participants will attend two professional theatre performances. The productions on offer at this TaPS will be confirmed by June 2020.

Booking is now open.
Registration opens 7th August 2020.
Registration closes 21st August 2020.
Travel information is due at the time of registration.

For artists
The artist team will be activated 12 weeks prior to the event.
Artist travel details are due 10 weeks prior to the event.

Finances


Students
Registration fees
Member schools – GBP £300.
Non member schools – GBP £335.
Host school – GBP £225 for the first 20, thereafter GBP £300.

Surcharges
ISTA t-shirt – GBP £12.
Airport transfers – GBP £10.
Non local participants daily travel – GBP £20. This will be for daily travel from the hotel to the school and from the school to the theatre.
Local participants – two one way theatre transfers – GBP £10.

Total cost per student
Local member schools – GBP £322.
Non local member schools – GBP £342.
Local non member schools – GBP £357.
Non local non member schools – GBP £377.
Host school – GBP £247.

Teachers/chaperones
Registration fees
GBP £130 (2 x theatre tickets plus meals at school).

Surcharges
ISTA t-shirt – GBP £12.
Airport transfers – GBP £10.
Non local participants daily travel – GBP £20. This will be for daily travel from the hotel to the school and from the school to the theatre.
Local participants – two one way theatre transfers – GBP £10.

Total cost per teacher/chaperone
Local – GBP £152.
Non local – GBP £172.

Please note
All registration fees and surcharges will be invoiced once the registration window has closed.
A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit will be sent with the booking confirmation; this amount will be deducted from your final invoice.
The deposit will be as follows:
For bookings of 1 – 10 students GBP £500.
For bookings of 11 – 15 students GBP £750.
For bookings of 16 or more students GBP £1,000.

Travel and visas


For participants
Overseas participants are advised to arrive into Singapore by evening on Thursday 17th September 2020 and should not plan to leave the venue before 3:00pm on Sunday 20th September 2020.
Local participants are responsible for organising their own travel to the venue daily. Please ensure this is planned so that you can attend the event in its entirety.

Please note
International travel should be planned accordingly.
It is the responsibility of the schools/participants to ensure they have the appropriate visas, as required.

For artists
Artists are advised to arrive into Singapore by evening on Thursday 17th September 2020 and should not plan to leave the venue before 3:30pm on Sunday 20th September 2020. We plan a Standing ovation session for artists following the close of the event.

Please note
International travel should be planned accordingly.
Please ensure you have the correct visa to enter Singapore.

Accommodation


For participants
All overseas participants are responsible for booking their own accommodation in Singapore for the duration of TaPS.
Details of several hotels near to the school will be confirmed shortly.

For artists
ISTA will book accommodation for ISTA artists for the nights of the 17th, 18th and 19th September 2020.

Meals

Breakfast will be taken at home.
For overseas participants
Breakfast will be taken at the hotel.
For all participants
Lunch will be provided on all workshop days. Dinner will be provided on days 1 and 2. Dinner is not provided the evening before TaPS starts or on day 3.

For artists
All meals for the duration of the workshop will be provided.
