May 24 - May 26, 2024

About the training

Training goals
Category 2
This workshop is designed to provide a forum for experienced DP theatre teachers to focus on ways to develop programme delivery, assessment, teaching and learning.

This workshop is for experienced Theatre teachers from IB World Schools. Teachers must have either attended a previous Category 1 workshop in Theatre OR have been teaching DP Theatre for a number of years. The overall purpose of workshops in this category is to provide a forum for experienced IB educators to focus on assessment and programme delivery.

Unsure of which Category is the right fit for you? Check out our guide for selecting the correct training Category.

Target audience
All teachers of the NEW DP Theatre course beginning in 2022 for cohorts graduating in May/November 2024.
Diploma Programme (DP) Theatre teachers who have prepared students for at least one DP exam session in Theatre.

Specialist workshop
All participants will take part in one specialist workshop delivered face to face or virtually.

At ISTA, we offer specialist workshops as part of all our IB DP Theatre Training Workshops. Our specialist workshop sessions aim to give participants a thorough insight into a specific aspect of theatre, enhancing their understanding and skills in a more concentrated manner. They aim to equip our IB DP Theatre teacher participants with new skills and knowledge that broaden their existing toolkit. By concentrating on a specific aspect of theatre practice, we introduce participants to the core of the field, igniting inspiration for further exploration and application in their teaching or creative work. Our sessions are designed to stimulate creative thinking and offer new approaches to theatre that participants can bring back to their classrooms or practice.

Theatre
All participants will view one professional theatre performance as part of the workshop.
