About the workshop
The Monologue Toolkit
This workshop will run you through a series of ways of approaching monologues. It will provide ideas for getting monologues up on their feet and into the body. It offers exploratory approaches as well as ways to build performance.
- learn how to guide students in initial approaches to tackling a monologue
- explore ways to help students find creative ways of staging a monologue
- gain tools to help students explore their monologue independently
All teachers of theatre and drama.
About your workshop leader
I am a theatre and English teacher with over 15 years experience. I have a Masters in Theatre and Performance Studies, a PhD in Dance and am studying for a Certificate in Dance in Education. I have studied many dance styles and musicalities from many different cultures.
I am interested in weaving together my knowledge of music, movement, dance, literature and theatre, and I love experimenting with how these elements can interplay to create enhanced, alternative and layered meanings.
