Travel & Visas

Arrivals and departures for visiting schools
All visiting schools arriving into Zurich International Airport or Zug Bahnhof will be met by a representative from the host school and transported to the venue by bus.

The host school will arrange transport to the airport or train station for your departure.

Arrivals and departures for ISTA artists
ISTA artists will be picked up from Zurich International Airport or Zug Bahnhof by a school representative.

Daily transport for visiting students
Homestay students will commute to school every day either by school bus or private car. Hotel based schools will travel by bus provided by the host school.

Daily transport for visiting teachers and ISTA artists
Visiting teachers and ISTA artists will travel to the school by host provided buses.

Transport for the cultural excursion
Everyone will travel to the cultural excursion by school provided buses.

Visas
You are responsible for securing any necessary visas for this festival.

Social meal for visiting teachers/chaperones and ISTA artists
The social meal will take place at the Zollhaus which serves traditional Swiss food – http://www.zoll-huus.ch/. Prices range from CHF17.00 – CHF30.00, visiting teachers can pay individually at the restaurant.

The mirror up to nature

At this festival we will explore…
… the ever changing identity of the natural environment through time, how it relates to and reflects our ever changing identities and the different people we see when we look into the mirror.

Inspiration
Glacier Garden, Luzern and the mirror maze, a room of 90 mirrors created in 1896.

Please note:
We advise that you have your group confirmed and all information collected by 12th September 2019.
Travel information is required as part of the registration process. Please have travel details confirmed by the time the registration window opens.
You should arrive in time to be at the festival venue for the 4:00pm start on Thursday 14th November 2019.
You should not plan to leave the festival venue until after 12:30pm on Sunday 17th November 2019.
Please arrange travel accordingly.

For artists
You need to arrive in time for an evening meal on Wednesday 13th November 2019.
You should not plan to leave the festival venue until after 1:00pm on Sunday 17th November 2019.
The Rep should arrive by evening on Tuesday 12th November 2019.
Please arrange travel accordingly.
Travel information is due by 5th September 2019.


Finances

Students

Registration fees
Students from member schools – GBP £216.
Students from host school – GBP £165 for the first 25, thereafter GBP £216.
This includes the cost of an ISTA t-shirt.

Surcharges
Airport transfers – GBP £10.
Excursion – GBP £10.

Total cost per student
Local member schools – GBP £226.
Non-local member schools – GBP £236.
Host school – GBP £175 for the first 25, thereafter GBP £226.

Teachers/chaperones

Registration fees
Member schools – GBP £50.
Non-member schools – GBP £102.

Surcharges
ISTA t-shirt (optional) – GBP £12.
Airport transfers – GBP £10.
Excursion – GBP £10.

Total cost per teacher/chaperone
Local member schools – GBP £72.
Non-local member schools – GBP £82.
Local non-member schools – GBP £124.
Non-local non-member schools – GBP £134.
Host school – GBP £72.

Please note:
1. A GBP £500 non refundable, non transferable deposit will be invoiced upon booking.
2. A GBP £500 cancellation fee will be invoiced to any school cancelling within 12 weeks from the start of the festival, in addition to the deposit withheld.
3. A GBP £150 late registration fee per school booking will be invoiced to schools if the registrations are received after the registration window has closed.
4. All invoices are payable within 28 days of receipt. If not, places cannot be guaranteed at the festival.

The hotel has free Wifi
The room rate is CHF 145 per person per night plus CHF 20 for breakfast.
City tax is CHF 1 per person per night.
The journey from the hotel to the school is approximately 10 minutes by school bus.

For schools

For teachers/chaperones
Visiting teachers/chaperones will be booked into the hotel for the nights of the 14th, 15th and 16th November 2019.
Teachers/chaperones will be responsible for paying for rooms on arrival. We can make provision for schools to pay hotel bills ahead of time.

For students
Students will stay with families from the host school community; there is no additional cost for this.
Housing for students will be provided for 3 nights from 14th November 2019.

For local participants
No accommodation will be booked for local schools.
You are responsible for organising your own daily travel.
Breakfasts will not be provided.

For artists
Single rooms will be booked for you for 4 nights from 13th November 2019.
An additional night will be booked for the Rep who will arrive on the 12th November 2019.
You will be responsible for any miscellaneous costs during your stay.
