
ISTA member school Canadian Academy, Kobe, Japan wanted to change up student learning. With the pandemic continuing on Head of Arts and middle school teacher Kristyn Art had a vision on how she could add a little creative disruption to her student’s school life with an after-school 8 week artist in residency project with ISTA artist Shane Jones.
Together, Shane and Kristyn and her middle school students developed a Verbatim movement piece that focused on the concept of community and on student discoveries through devised theatre.
