We launched face to face Studios in 2019 – 2 day PD&L experiences, primarily aimed at the MS theatre teacher. With well attended and successful workshops in Brussels and Bangkok exploring the MS curriculum we then began moving all our events to an online platform.
In July 2020 we piloted a virtual Studio – keen to replicate the immersive, interactive and collaborative approach that defined our face to face events. We had 16 teachers join this pilot – from Singapore across to Vancouver! And for our pilot we focussed on Concept based learning in the MS theatre programme.
We then took some time to develop some new PD Studio offerings based, primarily, on suggestions from our community.
Completing the trio of offers for MS theatre teachers our new Authentic assessment for the MS theatre teacher is now launched.
As are two additional new offers:
• Theatre for social change – developed primarily in response to issues concerning diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Drama across the primary school curriculum – something teachers have been asking us for years to develop.
We’ll be offering the above Studios from January through to May 2021. Each Studio comprises of 12 contact hours. These hours are clustered over a more intensive block of 3 days, or spread out over several weeks.
